Digital

Mural is a collage of images, each representing a different element in the picture. Mural is accessed through an actual mural painting. The piece is best described as a fantasy world. A place where peace is found through the acceptance of no understandings. Mural was made in photoshop collecting of four different images. Art 207 was definitely one of my favorite classes that slightly touched each program necessary for digital illustrations. If only there were an advanced illustration course I knew about.

Skateboarding is a huge passion of mine. Thankfully Tampa is home to one of the first areas to skateboard in the United States. Taking place in video games such as Tony Hawk Skateboarding. The assignment given was to take outdoor pictures that represent you. I was able to quickly locate one of my favorite skate spots "The Turtle Ditch" and begin shooting. The Turtle Ditch was not only a place for me to skate but also somewhere to reflect and meet the locals. ART 381 was a great experience because it got me to take pictures outside of my normal comfort zones.

Palm Tree Loaner is a photograph taken at Davis Island in Tampa, FL. The tree represents individuality in a calm and confident manner. It serves its individual purpose whilst being apart of a larger idea. Davis Island is a wonderful place to capture nature and florida sunsets because of it being a peninsula. While trying to find the right photograph I try to step back and enjoy what is around me before I start the creative process.

Smile, was bestowed upon me while I was exploring the beach. During my research for a digital imaging project, I stumbled across a seaweed smile on the sandy floor. It is funny how the world sends us messages when you least expect them. The photograph was taken with a Canon DSLR and did not receive any post editing. In conclusion, the project given was to bring in a collection of photos that have similar meaning and context. ART 381 opened up a lot of doors for me, mainly regarding to composition and symmetry. The biggest aspect I learned was that you can never take to many pictures.

After switching from a business oriented major to digital arts. I have been able to acquire media passes to music events and festivals. Instead of looking to manage, I am now able to create my own content. I generally try to take my music photography lightly and tend to capture the experience, rather than the performer. The photo seen above is one of five that all shared musical context. Each deriving from a freely done project in ART 381. Being taught basic knowledge of post editing and equipment was definitely a plus.
